SureM MMS currently supports delivery to China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan. These markets are served through direct carrier connections optimized for image-rich business messaging in the Greater China region. For other international markets, SureM recommends WhatsApp Business (200+ countries) for rich media delivery, or C-SMS (Concatenated SMS) for longer text-based content without image requirements.
SureM MMS supports JPG format only. Maximum file size varies by destination country:
- China: 80KB maximum
- Hong Kong: 200KB maximum
- Taiwan: 200KB maximum
Files exceeding these limits will be rejected at the carrier level and will not be delivered. SureM recommends compressing images to within the applicable limit before sending. For visually rich content requiring larger file sizes, WhatsApp Business supports images up to 5MB and documents up to 100MB.
Yes. SureM MMS supports up to approximately 1,000 Korean characters combined with image content for delivery to China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan. Both simplified Chinese (简体) and traditional Chinese (繁體) characters are supported without encoding issues. Korean text is encoded correctly without character corruption across all three supported markets.
Hong Kong carriers require alpha sender ID (branded sender name) pre-registration before MMS delivery is permitted. Unregistered alpha sender IDs may be rejected by carriers or delivered with a random numeric sender ID instead of your brand name, reducing recipient trust and open rates. SureM handles sender ID pre-registration as part of the MMS onboarding process and provides guidance on registration requirements and timelines.
MMS delivers image content directly to the recipient's native SMS inbox without requiring any app installation, making it accessible to all mobile users in China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan regardless of which messaging apps they have installed. However, MMS on SureM's network is currently limited to these three markets.
WhatsApp Business supports 200+ countries with richer content types — including images, documents, video, CTA buttons, and two-way conversation — but requires the recipient to have WhatsApp installed. In mainland China, WhatsApp usage is limited due to platform restrictions, making MMS the more reliable channel for reaching Chinese consumers directly.
For Greater China B2C campaigns requiring visual content, SureM recommends MMS for China and MMS or WhatsApp Business for Hong Kong and Taiwan based on your target audience.
Yes. SureM MMS supports scheduled sending, allowing you to set a specific date and time for message delivery. Scheduled MMS is available through both the SureBIZ web console and API integration. Real-time delivery reports are provided for all sent messages, including scheduled batches.
